If a full Phoenix team is not available, Ezra alone could be subbed into a Rebels squad and perform very well. I don't think it is possible unless heavily geared. I've omega'ed the uniques, but my purple mats are gone.
I have zeb, kanan, and chopper currently at 7star. Phoenix is the best team to farm early game, and can help you unlock Emperor Palpatine and Grand Admiral Thrawn. So with Tarkin you now have a team of Palpatine, Thrawn, and Tarkin. I read that you didn't really need the omega's (Ezra is almost all omega'd but the others are just at Skill 7).
